a crazy idea...

So, I've been inspired. I watched Julie & Julia recently with some friends and thought it was a great movie and just left it at that.

But, after becoming slightly obsessed with Jamie Oliver and reading about him and watching many tutorial videos on youtube, I had an idea. I'd love to cook my way through his cook books. And not just simply cook, but to thoroughly enjoy and immerse myself in the food. Plus, it'd be neat to document all of this and look back on it some day. I just love the way that Jamie really gets into the ingredients and food he prepares and I'd love to have that same relationship with food.

I'm not really sure which way I'd like to go with my major in Culinology. I know that I do have a passion for food and cooking and the pure love that can be shown through a recipe. But I'm not sure if I want to go the food science route and go into R&D... that just doesn't sound like something I'd be interested it. I'd rather go to Culinary school after I graduate and be able to really get my hands and heart into what I prepare instead of using test tubes and wearing a lab coat or something like that.

I don't know... and I'm sure that no one will probably even read this if I do decide to follow through with this idea. But, at least I can do this for my own personal enjoyment... and maybe I can figure out a few things about what my future may hold. We'll just have to wait and see!

6 Days left in Starkvegas...

... I can barely believe it! I'm DONE with classes for my freshman year and only have 3 exams until summer. I'm so ready to be home with my family and other friends for 3 entire months! Of course I'll miss the wonderful people I've met here and dearly love, but I need the break!
It's starting to storm outside. I mean, I literally just heard a very loud thunder. So Amanda is picking me up tonight before the Sigma Phi Lambda interest meeting so that I won't have to worry about walking in the rain... how sweet! :D
It's my last weekend in Starkville coming up, and it's supposed to have serious weather... so that totally ruined plans to go to the Refuge tomorrow. Oh well, we improvised and I think that Amanda, Christina, and I will still have a fun time indoors tomorrow with movies and pizza and ice cream!

((Here's the family at Easter... it's our "goofy" picture... gotta love Daddy!))

2 WEEKS!

I'm so excited... only two more weeks of class. Then it's finals time, but I'm not going to think about that too much right now!
I had a wonderful weekend just hanging out with friends and enjoying the amazing weather in Starkvegas. We went to a baseball game and a tennis match, where Amanda and I were the half-time entertainment. I wore a laundry basket on my head while she had to hit tennis balls across the net as I attempted to catch them. All in all, we lost against the boys' team, but at least I managed to catch two! After it was all done, we were then informed that we could have allowed the tennis ball to bounce before I caught it... oh well. We'll know for next time!
I don't have too much going on this week school-wise. Just starting to prepare myself for three tests next week and then finals the week after. So I'm going to try to focus on cleaning up this mess of a room before my family comes in for Super Bulldog Weekend! I'm so ready to see them. Plus, my Nana & Papa are coming, so that's an extra special treat! Well, I probably need to do something more useful with my time, but I'm sure I'll update again sometime.
